Improvisations on Lissajous curves Project: -sponsored by Telenoika 2006 - Introduction: Jules Antoine Lissajous (1822 - 1880), French Physicist who in 1855 developed diagrams Lissajous as a means to demonstrate visually the vibrations that produce sound waves.
The diagrams of Lissajous can now to re-create the plaques of deviation of the cathode ray in the screen of an oscilloscope applying alternating currents of frequencies different to the chanels of entry and therefore. The produced curves depend on the reason between the frequencies, and the amplitudes. the wave shapes and its movements...
Concert:
It is a matter of a spectacle Audiovisual following the figures of Lissajous generated with regard to two independent sound waves as alternating currents of frequencies different, coming from a synthesizer of electronic sound and an osciloscope . The wealth of sounds and therefore of waves, elevates to unnumberable living shapes made possible depending on parameters like form of wave, texture, fluctuations in the time, distortion, filtrate... etc. The result is a variation in real time of the figure that we visualize at the same time that the sound modifies, which it allows us of improvise and to explore sound textures and visual shapes in complete accordancy , we can say an Audio-Visual electronic musical instrument. Parts: First part is introduction with improvitzation sound-musical and visual interpreted by the author, continuous Synthesis of sound with visualization. It starts with pure tones and simple forms, the parameters of the synthesiser Progressively keep on being changed, and we obtain every time more complex, dynamic, changing curves... and the author transports us as different sound landscapes accompanied of figures... it can look with conference or technical explanation. It can last of 30 min. until 1 Hour. it's relaxed ambiental or experimental The second part is based on sequenced music, rythmic samples and visualisation of it... there are different style 'songs' it lates half to 1 hour too.
